During a recent trip to Trees Organic on Arbutus (review on that coming up) I decided to stop by Platform 7 for a quick bite. The latter is a cafe located on Broadway, in Kits. They are a very popular hangout: I was lucky to be able to grab a seat. I got a Stumptown Milkshake and a Deluxe Ham Breakfast.
Stumptown Milkshake ($5.25):

4/5
I asked what this was, and was told that it was a coffee milkshake. I think it was similar to a frappuccino, but creamier and less sweet. It had a pretty good flavour of coffee and wasn’t at all icy.
Deluxe Ham Breakfast ($5.50):
3/5
This consisted of an English muffin filled with egg, ham, cheese and some vegetables. The muffin I got had a pretty large and thick piece of eggs inside, which I found to be a little underseasoned. Strangely, even though there was definitely ham and cheese inside, I couldn’t really taste much of it. The sandwich was just, overall, a little too bland for my liking.
I’m not a big cafe person; I don’t really understand the appeal of doing work at a noisy shop where I can’t really focus. I did, however, quite enjoy the milkshake I had at Platform 7. The price is a bit on the higher side, but it’s not too outrageous considering the quality. I can’t speak on whether it’s a good local hangout, but I think it’s worth visiting for the drinks alone.
